"The Adventures of Poss" is an educational program which focuses on
epilepsy. It aims to encourage appropriate responses to seizures and to
foster a caring and accepting attitude which will reduce the stigma associated
with the condition.
Epilepsy affects one to two people in every hundred. People can develop
epilepsy at any stage of their lives, however most people have their first
seizure in childhood. It is estimated that 70% of people develop epilepsy
before the end of their primary school years.
You can help to enhance quality of life for people with epilepsy by
arranging for your local kindy, preschool or school to have "The Adventures
of Poss" program.
Young children are receptive to new ideas and accepting of people who
are different. The purpose of the program is to positively influence children's
attitudes towards epilepsy by educating them about the condition as early
as possible.
Who's the program for?
Who are the stars of the show?
There are two stars in this dynamic program. Little Poss is a baby possum
who sometimes gets wobbly and Ruby Rosella who is his special friend.
Together they sing, dance and talk about epilepsy.
If you would like Little Poss and Ruby Rosella to visit your school,
print out or fill in the online form below and pass it onto your teacher.
We regret that at the moment, this service is only available to Queensland
schools. The show is easily arranged for schools in the South-East Queensland
region. Schools in other regions may need to wait for a scheduled visit.

Please note:
Requested start times are used as a guide only and are subject to staff

We are limited to when and how far we are able to travel,
but will consider any request and do everything in our power to get there.
