FREE WEB DESIGN COMPETITION

for high-school students

Epilepsy Queensland Inc invites high school students to enter the third annual Technology One Website Competition.

What's the competition about?

The Technology One Website Competition is an event organised by Epilepsy Queensland Inc.  Entries are accepted from Queensland high school students.  This is an opportunity to put your web design, I.T., and creative skills to good use.  You may win some great prizes for you and your school.  And your involvement will help people with epilepsy!!  It’s free to enter.

In 2005, we are issuing high school students of all ages the challenge of designing a website for teenagers, addressing particular issues relating to epilepsy in the 13-15 age group.

In addition, the competition aims to:

•    raise awareness of epilepsy and thereby reduce social stigma
associated this condition in the community, particularly in teenagers

•   develop a program that is interactive, relevant, and appealing to teenagers

•   raise the community profile of Epilepsy Queensland

•   develop ideas and materials that can be used on Epilepsy Queensland’s
     websites  (www.eqi.org.au and www.littleposs.com)

Awards & Prizes

The winners will be awarded fantastic prizes.  The winning school will win $2,000 worth of books from Pearson Education and QUT for their school library, as well as a new computer or peripherals for their school.  In addition to these great school prizes, the winning students will each win individual prizes.  The winning entry will be displayed on Epilepsy Queensland ’s website.

Participating schools will be invited to attend the awards ceremony in October, where website entries will be highlighted and the winning team members presented with prizes/awards for their school and themselves.  One of the prizes for the winning school is $2000 worth of books courtesy of sponsors Queensland University of Technology and Pearson Education.
