Books for Children

Many young children have epilepsy. It can be confusing and frightening for them, and for other children who are around them - brothers and sisters, playmates and friends in school. Adults sometimes find it difficult to explain to them - just what a seizure is, why they need to take medication for it, and how best to help.

Epilepsy Queensland Inc has solved this problem with two wonderful books for very young children about a baby possum called "Little Poss" who has epilepsy. As well as the books, children can become members of the Little Poss Club, and receive regular newsletters. They can write a letter to Little Poss, and even invite him and his friend Ruby Rosella to visit their school or club.
